Pecan pie, a southern classic

Pecan Pie, a beloved dessert in the Southern United States, has roots dating back to the late 19th century. This indulgent treat features a rich and gooey filling made from pecans, corn syrup, and sugar, all encased in a buttery pie crust.

Pecan Pie Recipe:

Pecans: 200-250g

Corn syrup: 200-250ml

Brown sugar: 150-200g

Eggs: 3 (150-180g)

Butter: 100-150g

Vanilla extract: 5ml

Salt: 2-5g

Pie crust: Depending on the size of the pie dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, mix together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

Stir in the pecans until evenly coated with the mixture.

Pour the pecan mixture into the prepared pie crust.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

Allow the pie to cool before serving. Serve slices with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
